Methodology
The teaching method at IEDE Business School is based on 15 years of consolidated experience. By means of a practical education imparted by professionals in the sector, students cultivate their managerial skills by working with real cases. Thus, experience becomes the key element in the learning process.
Initial Theory Class
- Students have previously read the case and the technical notes.
- In this daily theory class the lecturer explains concepts and shares his/her experience with the class regarding other real business cases.
- This inverse learning process accelerates conceptual learning and gives students strategies and skills to expand their knowledge.
Group Work
- Groups are formed at the beginning of the academic year, based on a selection process. The results of this are heterogeneous groups that assure genuine interpersonal learning among peers.
- In this part of the class the participants are divided into work rooms to reanalyze the case and arrive at a solution. The debate and exchange of personal experiences at this point means an added value to learning.
- This group work allows students to share various points of view, experiences and come up with conclusions.
Debate and Decision-making
- The lecturer becomes a facilitator, redirecting the discussion and focusing it on the essential angles to the business problem. Students assess alternatives, debate, analyzing the pros and cons, and enter into the negotiations necessary for making the best decision.
- Students feel that they themselves have constructed the knowledge, in a practical and applied way. They solve the problem as if they were members of an executive committee.
This Method Facilitates the Following:
- Students learn the skills most required by the professional world.
- Students are exposed to viewpoints and content knowledge different from their own.
- Students improve their critical thinking skills.
The System
This Master’s program is structured so that students learn to develop the technical and professional skills necessary to fulfill the program’s objectives.
