The Law Clinic at the Universidad Europea de Madrid
The Law clinic is an internet site offering legal advice to students. All the students of the Laureate Group in Spain can access to the services offered by the Clinic.
The presentation and launch of the Law Clinic took place last December. Those present included Mr Enrique López López, member of the General Council of the Judicial Power [Consejo General del Poder Judicial], Mr Alfonso Carrascosa Marco, Managing Director of Legálitas, our University Rector, Mrs Águeda Benito, and those behind the concept and implementation of the project, Professor Dr Juan Manuel Campo Cabal, and the distinguished Student of Law and Business Administration, Mr Antonio Carrera Monsalve.
The Law Clinic is the culmination of a collaboration project between professors and students. Since it began in April of 2008, every effort has been made to maintain a constant commitment to achieving the final result; the provision of not only the best free legal advice service to students of the Universidad Europea de Madrid but also to guarantee the best comprehensive training to students of Law.
The educational aspect of the UEM Law Clinic is focused on becoming yet another step towards the academic excellence of our students of Law, providing them with a practical vision of the legal world from the outset of their university years. Furthermore, the Clinic works towards the promotion of social responsibility among students by encouraging companionship and support at precisely the time that they need it most.
In terms of legal services to students, the Law Clinic is the first internet portal to offer a free legal advice service to university students in Spain. The website,, enables both undergraduate and graduate students of the Laureate Group in Spain to access the services offered by the Clinic. Following a simple registration process, any student can present their query using a form, which will be duly examined and considered. During the resolution process, the departmental heads of each legal field oversee the work of the Law students. Once a response has been identified, it is sent to the person making the enquiry.
